Have you ever found yourself in the midst of a situation not so pleasing and asked yourself the proverbial question, “What in the world am I doing?!”

I experienced this a couple of weeks ago…

I was trying to figure out why things in my life appeared to be so out of control and I found myself doubting my ability to create the things I wanted and enjoy them. I realized that in the midst of meeting all the” demands” I had put on my life’s plate I had not been focusing my energy on listening to ME.

There is a great Latin proverb that says “Nosce te ipsum” translated into “Know Thy Self”.

Each of us has in internal guidance system that is available to us in every moment and experience we have. This guidance inspires us with creative ways to express ourselves so that we can live a life we love.

I chose to take several days out of my “busy” schedule for the sole purpose of hearing myself…and guess what took place? I became extremely clear about what was taking place in my life and I was inspired with a creative new business venture that I know will allow me to create greater prosperity.

Focus and clarity are key when you are trying to build the life you want and consciously choosing to listen to your Self will go long way.

Practical Application

Commit at least 15 minutes a day, preferably, when you first wake up to sitting in silence and listening. It’s really that simple. As you move about in your day if you begin to feel “stressed” about a situation you can take several deep breaths and focus on those breaths. Doing this helps you focus your energy inward where all the guidance you need awaits you so that you can know thy Self.
