A good friend of mine and I were talking and she used a phrase that I don’t typically hear her say…
“Keeping It Real”
It’s a colloquial term used by a lot of the ‘young folk’ meaning a myriad of things ranging from, not selling out to ‘tha man’ to appreciating culture…and everything in between.
We laughed about it, then got into a really interesting discussion about “keeping it real”
The “Keeping It Real” we were referring to was
It’s The End Of An Era…
I don’t know what other way to put it.
I haven’t been sick…in almost two decades. Not even as much as a common cold since December 11th 1989.
Until now…
This week I got sick… and not only did I get sick, I came down with
As of this year… I’ve only had one ‘cold’ in 18 years.
I remember 15 years ago, I hadn’t had a cold in about 3 years and I was talking to a girlfriend and she asked me did I ever get sick? Jokingly, I told her that I didn’t have time to get sick.
She totally cracked up and

It’s really a interesting question to ask with powerful implications.
